Last shot

This my last shot at this truck. I need a vehicle for work and it seems like this thing don't wanna run. Hopeing someone has a diagnoses for these symptoms... I throttle up truck and when I let off she stalls, can fire right back up tho. Oh and I can't build boost. Vgt sits at 85% at idle and will go down to about 67% when I throttle up. Throw any ideas at me guys cause this truck is aboht to go for sale. Just got a new good paying job and can't lose it because of a truck.

Camshaft sensor to the driver's side of the power steering pump, if memory serves. I had to unplug mine from the top and remove it from the bottom. One 8mm hex head. Remove the air filter housing for top access.

I've been following the other build/repair thread. Sorry it's not cooperating. I don't have any real expertise I can lend. Congrats on your new job.

Don't give up!! You are so close to getting this thing going. I wish I could help you out on this, but I am still learning the turbo stuff on these pigs.

The camshaft sensor code can pop up when a lot of cranking occurs. It might be a ghost type code. Reset it and keep working on the boost issue.

Reset the code and move on.

Are all your CAC boots and pipes mounted and secure?

Is the VGT plug connected?

Was it you that rebuilt the turbo on this? Trying to remember the different threads.

From a Ford Diesel Master Tech:
"If the vgt is reading 15 or 85% for any period of time that means that your truck is not happy with the amount of exhaust back-pressure. This can be caused by either a stuck turbo, an exhaust leak before the turbo, or a plugged or faulty ebp sensor. The first thing I would do is remove the ebp sensor and make sure it's clean and that the tube is not restricted. If this is okay then I would remove and inspect/clean the turbo."

Yes I took this turbo out of a truck that was sitting out in a junkyard. Cleaned it up and used my vgt from my 06 turbo into this 2003 turbo. What should my EBP be reading?

16 psi at idle

I don't recall which trucks the EBP is not important as far as actual readings.

Maybe unplug the EBP and see what happens?

Maybe the vanes are stuck on the turbo?

If ebp was plugged I would still be getting boost. Just not full boost I ran into that on my last truck. This truck is literally getting 0 boost. Nothing nada
