You are right. After all, Ford did not even give us the dpf gauge. The truck will take care of itself.

Got my DPF Screen enabled today, no charge from my dealership. Of course, I walked the mechanic through the process with the screen shots that were posted, so perhaps that had something to do with the great price...

I have an xlt with the smaller standard dash screen. Does my setup have the option to enable the dpf % screen ?

 

That is a good question......

 

Yes, I turned my DPF% screen on my XLT before I upgraded to the 8" productivity screen. You can even do it without the latest beta version of FORscam.

 

I have been tempted to take a look at the Forscan stuff. Do you need to do it with a laptop or is it possible to do it with your phone?

 

It's pretty easy once you wrap your head around it. You need a laptop, Windows only. And a OBDII connector.

At my dealer now getting the DPF on screen display. Showed this great thread w pics of the screens and the techie said absolutely and no problems, I remember doing this for someone else.

Forum sometimes helps in more ways than you imagine.

I've been to my dealer and another in my area and they looked at me like I'm from mars when i asked about this.

 

Seems like this is a common response to a lot of this custom "programming".

 

Do like I did, pull up the first page and scroll down to the post with the dealer screens clearly shown. Once my technician saw the screens, he immediately remembered doing it before for a customer.

And if he never did it, I can’t see why with this detail he couldn’t do it. Looks pretty easy.

I even printed out the screen shots to show them. They are not interested in doing it.

called a local Custom Diesel shop. They said they have forscsn and IDS and would look into it and get back to me. That was a week ago on Monday. Called them back this past Monday and they said they haven't had time to look into it yet. I told them I have the screen shots if they want to learn. Have not heard back from them yet. They advertise they are the go to shop for all your Diesel needs including deletes and tuning.

 

Dealer did mine with no issues. I asked for it to be done before I picked up the new truck on Saturday.
