My box link cleats are a PITA to install. The key won't turn all the way on one of them. The others are very difficult to get the key to turn all the way. The e-track cleat or strap may be a lot easier.
Dale, thanks for the pictures showing e-track working in the box link.
Yeah, I saw that too. But in my opinion, the Box Links don't seem terribly strong. When some of these beds are rated for over 5,000lbs capacity...you'd think the hooks and tie downs would all be strong enough to handle securing that kind of load.
I have not looked at these in detail yet but was wondering about the strength issue also. Based on appearance I would hesitate to tie down anything heavy as the attachment screws do not look to be attached to anything solid. The traditional corner tie down locations are very strong and dependable.

Ford promised the bed walls are heavily reinforced around the areas of the Box Links, but who knows. Like you, I don't think they seem (or feel) terribly rugged. I *have* used them, they are useful...but I have not tied down anything crazy heavy to them.
Most of the E-Track stuff will clip into the Boxlink braces. That's what the tie down straps in the video are. E-Trailer has a ton of E-Track stuff.
Agreed! I have E-track in my enclosed trailer, both on the floor and on the walls. You can get all sorts of gadgets to fit that system. Hooks, brackets, etc.

I don't have the link to confirm but I recall reading somewhere that each hook had a 400lb max capacity.
