So, I had some hood-rat try to make off with my 2002 F250 last night. Nothing like getting ready to head out to work only to find your key won't even insert into the ignition. I have to replace the the outside door handle and the ignition lock cylinder. My question is - I have a PATS system in the truck, so is there a recoding procedure I can do in my driveway with a replacement cylinder? Or is that a dealer thing only? Also since I can't get my key into the cylinder, how difficult is it to get it out the unconventional way?
Edit: Maybe, it doesn't have PATS. Looking at the difference in keys, mine looks just like a regular key with a plastic coated head. Lucky, maybe? With replacing it, anyway. I read 99-07 didn't come with PATS - True?
Here's a pic. Zooming in on the pic (and not with these old naked eyes) it looks like the "S" is stamped out.

Reason: Additional info
Got it all back together for ~$55. Kind of bummed that it doesn't have the PATS, though. They came close. They were just dumb asses that didn't know what they were doing. A couple of years ago, our daughter's car was hit. Both door cylinders popped out and hanging from the doors and they STILL couldn't get in. Must have been rookie thieves...
Still a couple of scratches at the bottom of the handle.
