Can someone help with the correct way to clock the transfer case so it will line up with the new transfer case shift motor. I have read that you should not clock the transfer case shift motor.
Thanks for your help
Ed
I'm not sure on which position the transfer case should be at to mate with the new shift motor, but just grab a wrench that fits the shaft and you can turn it to whichever position matches the new shift motor. There is an encoder in the shift motor so it doesn't matter what position it is in. At least thats how my 01 was, assuming my 05 would be the same.
Follow Up Question:
The shop manual says to put the truck on a lift.....Does that mean for convenience/ease of working under? or does the tires have to be off the ground - front two or all?? I am a little short on lifts but I do have Jacks and Jack Stands.
Thanks
Ed
