Update

It was like pulling teeth, but I finally got my real estate sold and have some cash to start fixing vehicles.

But, being Bonehead, I thought I'd see what I could buy with my money first, figuring I might find a good running truck for less than it'd cost to fix my current truck.

And I scored today at the Richie Bros. auction. Got this '06 F450 6.0 with 143k miles. Everything supposed to work. Actually got it cheap enough that I can still fix my ambulances.

Looks like it will be a good rig if all the vitals are in check. 4x4?

Just looking at these pics and realized that it has those little paddle mirrors, dang it. I think that means I'd have to swap doors to get trailer mirrors.

nah, just rear-wheel. I'm going to take the top tool boxes off, and maybe the extra fuel tank. I have to stop every few hours any and don't mind filling up.

NICE

Worse come to worse you could probably off that bed with boxes for a good deal if you're looking for a regular bed.

The auction says it goes forward/backwards and has brakes. We'll find out Monday.

Lol. I noticed the Dumbo mirrors to. Tow mirrors will bolt right on. No door swapping necessary.

Yeah, a similar F350 was my first 6.0 truck and it had all the top boxes and fuel tank. I sold those too cheap at $200 for all. I can get more than that. But I want the flatbed.

It's just an XL, but I paid less for the whole truck than it would cost to have the dealership put 8 new injectors in your truck.

I had to get trailer mirror doors on my Eseries, thought the trucks would be the same. Looks like I might need some tires too, can't quite tell.

OK, got my truck home today. Here's a new problem for me - the truck does nothing when I put it in Drive, but if I shift to 3, it seems to drive just fine. I assume it's going into overdrive - at 2200rpm, it's going about 65.

Got it rolling then shifted into D and it was like shifting into Neutral.

I know there is a tranny expert among the members here, but I forgot his name. Anyone ever heard of this problem?
