Since it was not easy to find fittings over here i´m glad i found a hydraulic hose company who pressed a 9/16 fitting to my existing power steering hose.




So my Power Steering Line issue is solved.

 

Got the rear Fenders back from the painter:

Ingo, the box looks great, but I need your help with my confusion. In the photos above in the paint booth I see both the box and the rear fenders painted, yet when I see the photo of the box remounted on the truck, I see rear fenders mounted on the box that look like they are being worked on. What fenders am I seeing in the paint booth?

Haha Jim you are right. I just posted the pics in the wrong order.
I just tried the Fenders before i painted the box, than after the box was painted (in the meantime i repaired the Fenders), they later were painted.
Sorry for the confusion.

 

Gotcha, makes much more sense now. Everything looks great regardless. Always a fun milestone when paint goes on. Keep up the great work.

You are correct, it is looking real good.

It is amazing, all the work that goes into rebuilding a truck, but the paint is where you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.. We all know that there is more work in the preparation for paint, than the paint itself, but the application of paint is where the project starts to shine. No pun intended.

yes that's right when paint is applied it's something special, then you see the progress.
Whereby here actually the painting should not play any role, but since it was clear that a new bed was needed, painting could not be avoided. Basically, this should only be a technical revision.

In the meantime i started assembling some frontend sheetmetal.







Cut the round hole in the Fanshroud because I needed the aluminum sheet for the base plate of the fuse box .
Put the transmission oil cooler in its place.
Started with wiring.
Installed Carburator, Distributor and Ignition Coil.

 

Bent and flared the front brake lines





Installed the steel braided brake lines.

almost done with fabricating the fan shroud, looks good, i like it.
But it will be difficult to get the Fan inside.
Enough for this weekend i will try it next week.

 

Try removing the shroud and move it back as far as it can go to the engine...then bolt the fan on to the water pump...then move the shroud back over the fan and bolt it back on. That's the way I used to do it on vehicles with shrouds & mechanical fans.
