2004 6.0 no start hot

Hi guys.. first time asking anything on here. I've been reading the threads a lot though and it has helped out greatly so thank you to everyone for the knowledge.. unfortunately now I'm at a dead end I think and need some help.. my 2004 6.0 has been driving me nuts. A few months ago the truck would stall out above 1500 rpm. But would re start every time hot or cold.. I had a guy scan it for me and I watched my hpo gradually drop until it stall.. would re build and fire within 5-10 sec.. he gave me a list of things to check and change so I went down the line with new IPR, ICP, nipple cup orings, top injector orings, truck already has upgraded stand pipes and dummy plugs with good rubber on them so after that the truck would run but it would stall as soon as my eot hit about 160 and wouldn't restart until cold.. I changed the hpop it has the upgraded hpop cover and I changed the "J" tube also.. fired up fast surprisingly with having to prime itself IPR was at 17 ICP fluctuating between .9 and 1.2 is roughly hpop spiked at 3000 when first fired and was fluctuating between 7 and 1200.. truck warmed up and did the same thing.. I checked my oil filter fill time when it died and was full in 8 seconds no air in the oil either.. what else am I missing?? I'm at a wall here and I'd like to use my truck for something other than holding down my driveway lol.. thanks for your help guys

Was it a Ford re-manufactured pump? Hate to be the bearer of bad new, if it was from them... they are know to be bad from the box and some report that 3-4 arrive that way. Most here are using an Adrenaline Pump, 2 year warranty, run from the box, CNC machined, way better unit!

You couldn't pay me to use a Ford pump... failed once already, it will get you again, matter of days, weeks, month maybe, but its coming.

And welcome to the site. Hope it works out for you. Where you from?

A friend of mine who works at advanced got it for me.. 1 yr warranty.. the "j" tube is Ford and the o'rings are bostech.. got them from extreme diesel here in Jersey.. if I had the money I'd go for the adrenaline pump but that a bit much for me right now though from the sounds of it I might have to lol yay me

Regardless, the bottom line is that the Ford and most other reman 03-04 HPOP are junk that may not last.

The adrenaline is worth the trouble even if you have to borrow the money from someone to buy it. Bob addresses a lot of the issues with the stock pump and leaves you with one that will out live and out perform any Ford HPOP.

Did the cover go on really easy? I would have used Ford o-rings on the j-tube. The pump should make near 4000psi.

So when you get on it, it just falls on its face. Sounds like pump to me. Fires quick, starts hot or cold and won't go above 1500psi. You could get a warranty replacement, but you'll most likely be doing it again before you know it.

Good luck to you.

Can't even drive it.. once eot gets to about 160 truck dies and will only build between 280 and 400 psi.. and thanks I need all the luck I can get lol
