04 won't throttle up?

Hey guys, Ive got an 04 f150 with the 5.4 in it. It's got a problem that's got me scraching my head. When you drive the truck it will drive fine, but revs like there isn't anything there when it tries to go into overdrive. But if you turn off overdrive, it won't rev much more than 2500 rpm.. Obviously its a sensor issue, but which one? Any insight?

You could start with the DTR sensor down on the side of the tranny. But to me it sounds more of a mechanical issue than an electrical one.

But, why wont it throttle up when the OD is locked out? that's whats frustrating me

So, when it shifts to OD, it is like in neutral, and with OD off its like limp mode?

yep, it runs fine while in normal driving, except the OD miss. But when you lock out the OD it won't run over 2000-2500 rpm

Ive replaced bothe cam phase sensors, and several coil packs to correct missfires.

It's time to put a Scanner on and see if any trans codes are present.
You need a place to start instead of guessing.
if the OD light is out and you can't see there is a fault lighting the light.
