Okay, sure its been asked on this forum many times but have a 2016 that I am looking a putting an ARB fridge in. Would also like to add a separate battery for it to work off / maintain it powers into my 110 outlet but when the car is parked I assume it uses battery power to maintain the cool. there is protection to keep it from killing the battery though.
Question
Does anyone make a complete kit for the installation of the battery under the frame? an enclosed unit that would keep it from the elements and yet be easy enough to get to, and yes I do understand it will be under the truck. Looked at one here by an advertiser but it appears to use a plastic battery box which is bolted down to their frame mount, the frame mount looks good but putting 4 bolts thru a plastic box and bouncing it around with some light off-roading, I think will eventually crack and break the battery box
Also looking for a quality installation kit as well
There is a listing on eBay for a dual battery setup for the 2011 to 2016 with 6.2 engine. i considered it when i have my 2011 with 6.2. Looks like a nicely done kit for 2nd battery.
Thank you, I will check it out, FYI, I have the Diesel engine, do you think that would make a difference? Also what is the quality of the cable set, if it came with one?

You didn't say you had a diesel in the original post. I made the mistake of assuming you had a 6.2 since you wanted a second battery but you actually are wanting a 3rd battery.
That is a nice kit but a little expensive. I bought one and I've had it in about 4 months now.
Joey I didn't post it as the only solution nor cheap solution but as a solution but he has a diesel so this is not an option for him, cheap or expensive. If you got a cheap one, why don't you post it instead of complaining about the price of the one I posted?
Thanks guys, if you have an idea for the diesel, preferably frame mount and a steel or sturdy aluminum or stainless box please let me know. I am having some items installed on the truck and would love to find this while it is in the shop adding the lights and accessories

While the Super Duty subforum is good, it covers all drivetrain configurations rather specific ones.
Here's a thread in the 6.0 liter section that talks about what you're looking for. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...tallation.html

Did you read the 2nd sentence of my post? I said that I bought one for myself. It's a great kit, I promise! I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.
