Headlights not working

Headlights not working
I've got a 1996 f350 psd and a couple days ago I noticed that my headlights quite working. A lot of threads point to the hi/low switch on the column. But the headlights work with the engine off, but turn off with the engine running. Any ideas??

Hmm, MAYBE the alternator is doing something odd. Test - start with COLD engine, remove the belt and BRIEFLY (remember, you have no water pump) run the engine and try the headlights. If they work under these conditions, then the alternator must be a player.
