Underseat powered sub
Anyone power a sub using the upfitter switches? I will be using the line level inputs with remote turn on. Have a friend who offered to give me his Kicker HS-8 powered sub.

There is no reason you could not use an upfitter switch. But why use one up for that? You are going to want your amp to turn on any time you turn the truck on, so just use an accessory powered wire.

Just trying to avoid running monster cable through the firewall and connecting directly to the battery.

Those switches are not rated for the kind of current you are talking about. I thought you were referring to the remote turn on wire! You have to go straight to the battery with 4 ga. wire. There are plenty of places to put it through the firewall.
