Well I thought I had a good idea, control amp and therefore sub by putting a switch on a wire connecting the 12 volt source and the REM terminal. Installed the switch, sub came on fine, flipped switch, sub goes off...two or three seconds later comes back on despite position of switch. Does it every time. Suggestions?
the only possibility I can think of - is that your amp has an auto-on
function when it senses signal thru the RCA cables
3 options
disable that function on the amp if possible
turn your sub-out off in your head unit
or you need an electronic or passive switching device
to go in your signal line
ive used these type switchs for video systems with multiple inputs
but im sure it would still work for audio only
Well it's aight I won't worry about it. I thought about putting a switch in the 12V source or ground but decided not to worry about it, I'll just toggle it manually if I feel the need. Thanks for the help.
