There used to be a trick to get a better price on shipping.
Maybe someone will remember what I am thinking about.
You had to go to the Motorcraft parts site and used
tousleyfordparts com that is now >>> AutoNation Ford White Bear Lake | Parts & Accessories
as your parts dealer. Then you would get Free or very low cost shipping.
Not sure if you can still do that or not. Would be worth looking into.
Anyone recall the deal and how to make it work?
Try the code RP-15 for 15% off of shipping. Otherwise, try Fordparts.com/autonationfordwhitebearlake. The shipping is a flat rate courtesy of Ford and Fed Ex but not sure how that applies to Alaska.
I sure hope that number didn't come from our site's shipping calculator. That's CRAZY, if so. It it IS from our site, drop me an email (ed@ficmrepair.com) with what you want to order and your address so that I can manually run the shipping to get an exact price that we can hook you up with.
Sure was. I tried to order an alternator from you a while back but it was going to be $120 shipping!!! If you can offer better rates to Alaska (alternator could go in a $15 flat rate USPS box) you should put a disclaimer on your site for AK shipping. We get forgotten up here and USPS is always the cheapest way to ship :-)
Autozone has Dorman tranny pans for $53.99 and Duralast filter for $58.99, free shipping to Alaska. Filter is a little steep but 20% off ship to home orders over $100. Any problems with the aftermarket tranny filters? I stay Motorcraft on everything else.

Stories like this make me wonder if it wasn't better with old text-based, non e-commerce site. I am quite certain that there is no way that shipping an alternator to you would have run into the triple digits. Dang technology!
If its not not too late already, drop me an email and we'll see what we can do. We don't work to make money on shipping - it's just a pass through cost.

I sold some big truck tires to a guy in AK years ago -- couldn't beat USPS: just taped a label to each one And they went by Air...
For the minimal cost of the external filter why would you not use it and take advantage of the extra 10% filtering? Leaving it empty or not changing it makes absolutely no sense to me.
Mike: you aren't throwing bricks from your glass 6.7 house, now are ya'?!
Going from the 1 to 10% filter that came on the 6.0s to 100% filtering, is the huge jump. I remember Dom twisting his lines trying to get that front canister loose and others with stripped threads or leaks after they changed the lil' front guy out, so that extra nth % of filtering, comes with a risk...?
You'll be shooting us pictures of the external filter you've added to your 6.7 trans... Any time now....
