Which tranny pan?

I was going to get a tranny filter and fluid today and he asked if I had the deep or the shallow pan. How do you tell the diff? Mine measure 2.5" at the tallest point but reduces down a the crossover piece.

Thanks for the help
Paul

The 2 1/2 pan is the truck pan. If it is less than this it is a car pan somebody put on. There is an extention ring that fits in the filter for the trucks that moves the pickup down to the bottom of the pan.

You should get the extetion pickup with the filter but you can always use the old one if you have to.

There are actually two different pan depths and different filters used on the trucks. The thick filter will not work on the shallower of the two pans it hits bottom.
