She only went up there to take care of her dad before he passed away. He was stuck in a nursing home and wanted to die at home. She will stay with us till she finds a place of her own somewhere in Rome. She say's we live too far in the country for her liking.
Watched the first one before I fell asleep, good thing I have it recorded on the dvr. Getting ready to head to the airport, this is going to be a long day, tomorrow even longer.
qI bet that would have been 2 days for us. This goingredients to be a road warrior week for me. Tuesday trip t9 Clarksville to pick up driveway culvert maybe stop in Canton to pickup a jetted tub aND diesel tank. Wensday drive to Lithia Springs to pick up the 36" culvert for the creek. Get back drive to Warner Robins/Macon for monthly Harbor Freight and get groceries run. Thursday out to the land to work and get ashalt millings delivered. Friday rest Saturday have to be in Duluth at 8:30 for a log home university part of the log home show.,
I hope I never have to drive that far in one shot ever again. I could have made it home faster but the winds from the cold front were horrible and they would really slow us down.
I have to knock a few things out around the house this morning but then plan on being a couch potato all afternoon because it's RACE DAY!!!
Hugh, it's cost vs reward. A lot of log homes in Georgia seem to be more weekend homes, and they don't have garages. It can cost between $20,000 to $25,000 for a week end show. That requires a lot of door sales to cover that cost.
Chief, back forty years ago when I was young, dumb, and single, it took 18 hours because the speed limit back then was 55 everywhere. Glad to hear you made it back safely. Ready for raceday. I saw the race yesterday, and the three segment thing is kind of like the truck series last year. They can pit if they want to, but aren't required, unlike the All Star race in Charlotte where the actually get out of the car, and have 10 minutes to work on the car.
I do like the 5 minute rule to repair the car, and be able to run minimum speed. If you go the garage, your out, and are required to go to Infield Care Center.
Bob that makes sense. That why driving all GA to get the deals my 18 " culvert 150 a section. The jetted tub 50 the diesel tank 100 the 36 in pipe 75. We we were young and foolish we did the Ft Worth to Atlanta with two kids non stop. Now that we are older and wiser we either fly or if we drive stop 8n Vicksburg for the night.
I think the to the garage you out will be a good thing. Hopefully stop the fronto runner from get in a wreck with some9ne just making laps.
The way they talked last night, it is fully implemented in all series. Last year the trucks had a 25 or 30 lap frame window that in no yellow flag came out, they would throw out a yellow. If they had an actual need for a caution, the lap count would start over.
The rules changes may not get as bad as we thought. Maybe some better racing. I think they should got to heat races instead of single car qualifying. They did that some last year in xfinity
I've seen heat races back in my dirt days. The problem with heat races is the chance of damaging their car, not being able to repair it to make the race. To much money at stake.
