When was the last tI me you started the 79? Could the gas have gone bad?
Took Lexie out to the land today. Even though I take pictures when I am out there she did not realize how much I had got done. We left and drove to the builder's house about 20 minutes away. We were just about there steering got hard and battery light came on. When we parked the temp gauze was pegged. Was thinking just a serpentine belt. Popped the hood and the PLASTIC power steering pulley was busted. Our builder is a nice guy and brought us home. Yes I did give him gas money without him asking.

his wife had a white and black Hummer and he drives a super duty King Ranch
I don't think the gas is bad, I had it running about 3 weeks ago. I am beginning to think the fuel pump is junk. Didn't get around to looking at it today since I spent most of the day putting the new radiator in the Jaguar. I got it finished up just in time as it started raining about 10 minutes after I came in the house.
I took the wife and daughter out for dinner last night for Valentines day. They don't know they still have flowers and candy coming on Tuesday too.
The Hummer is fun to drive but it loves the gas too much to be a daily driver.
today was a great day. All 3 chains came off, crank pulley fought me a little but she came out, and both heads were off and on in 1.5 hours. Good thing I prepared, tensioners were fed, and the chains had so much slack it was impossible to TDC the engine. But crank is at tdc, and the chains have marks to go back on perfect. pistons and walls looked beautiful for a 200k engine. I forgot my torx, so I have 2 guides I couldnt replace, so I will tomorrow, and start the rebuild.
I was able to pawn the track and sprockets off to someone else. I was not looking forward to that after doing the rear main on Thursday/Friday. YAY!!!!!

I was glad not have to do the track work, that's how I hurt my back a few months ago. My wife posted the Jaguar for sale and we have someone interested in buying it. One less thing to pay insurance on when it's gone.
I have pretty much taken over the Suburban, it has a bunch of highway miles already so it doesn't bother me to drive it the rest of the year back and forth to work. Only cost about 15 bucks more a week in gas. I commute with a guy so I only drive every other week.
Got the Jeep back on the road. The pulley is plastic if I had know that would have replaced it when I did the pump. After we got going went to Fresh Air BBQ in Jackson. Their pit is 80 years old
That's got to be some good BBQ if it's been around that long. I'll look it up next time I go down that way. Glad you were able to fix the pulley that quick Hugh.
