Mathematically it is virtually impossible to do 140 MPH in your truck. By the time you take in the following, tire diameter (you'll need to run at least a 36" dia. tire), your given 3.55 ratio, probably running a stock tranny (OD is useless if you're trying to do 140) and the fact that you are pushing a wall of wind (don't forget to keep the tailgate down). It is virtually impossible to do 140 MPH. The cop that pulled you over probably read something in your body english or something you said and thought hell if this guy thinks he did 140, I'll write him up for 140. It's not hard to calculate a MPH if you have the above figures. It does not matter how much HP you have either, things are only going to rotate as designed. HP gets them to rotate quicker.

This story is bogus. No such thing as a special ordered 275hp truck engine. The mustang 5.0L in 1995 only had somewhere like 225hp.

Also BS is the 145mph crap. I've had mine at 105 once. The fuel shutoff for a 302 is at 5500rpm anyways.

I believe in giving everyone a fair shake but you sir are a Moron. If you want to endanger your life by doing 140 in a truck out in public go ahead. The first time you are endangering my family out on the open road however will be the last. how old are you anyway? 15? 16? Been watching too many movies from the sound of it. Running Cops off the Road? is this suppose to be "cool"? Try running a Texas or Oklahoma state cop off the road one time. They have a zero tolerance law for that it seems, they are liable to take your head clean off for you. Think about this for a minute if you will, waking up in the morning realizing that you killed a family of 4 while driving like an idiot. Pretty scary huh? One last thing, cussing and swearing does not make a man. Take it easy and hopefully you keep it rubber side down long enough to read this.

How long have you had your 66? I have had my 66 Fairlane 500 for almost 10 years now. It is an original R code 427 car with a 4 speed (bought without motor ) I am running a .030 over 390 with forged pistons and a Lunati 230 degrees@.50"/.555 lift cam with medium rise 427 heads and the original dual 4 intake with the factory 715 CFM Hollys. I managed to get the original valve covers, intake and carbs, and air cleaner housing with the car, all I could talk the guy out of on the motor. Someday I will find another 427 for a reasonable price to go back into it. Have fun with your Fords I know I am .

I have a 95 F-150 4X4 SC with a 302, auto. Last trip in Montana, I decided to see what she would do on the open road. Mind you, it was legal, the only speed limit was the "safe and prudent" limit that they have since repealed.

Anyway, once I got about 90 MPH or so, the aerodynamics of the truck made it feel like my front tires weren't quite connected with I-90. I decided at at that point that 90 MPH was too fast, set my cruise control on 75 and motored on down the road.

Anything over 100 MPH would be insane.

 

fatforty I am not 16-19 i am 50years of age. I have 2 kids and divorced. I love speed when I was 18 or so I had a camaro With a clutch so hard you had to kick it and shift.

 

This post is not bull . If you wanted to pay for the engine you could have. I had the the money so I did I. I only dive this fast around 3 AM in the morning. I rush from PA to CT I have some friends there and I have to work just like the rest of you so I have to leave around 2 or three in the morning. I got busted becasue when you are passing ever thing insight any cop will pull you over. Hell I still can't drive in New Jersey. I have the ticket to prove that I can do what I am saying.

 

Oh and for all the people whom want me to be say if I am going to drive fast the only thing on that highway will be me the cops and those 18 wheelers

 

I have a ford 8N farm tractor supercharged and burning alcohol i wound up to 90MPH on the NJ turnpike and a huffy with 26 inch tires and 12 speed tranny 190 mph topspeed , Yeah 450hp does have some crap on f-150 online but i couldnt find "Amazing Feat" but a post caled top speed where he talks about pulling the fuse also he also got shut down ovr there i see LMAO

Still can't drive in NJ huh? Maybe that's a good thing. Think about the consequences of your actions if you hit someone doing that speed in your truck. Chances aren't looking real good huh?

if you don't belive me fine If you know all there is to know then good luck to you. Hell If you want to say that I will take you for the ride of your life is stupid then fine. I know what my truck could do this post was to find out if I could make it go faster but hey yeah know sometimes people as thick headed as some of you they know it all and thats that. And what I mean by special order is The Engine is completly special order the heads a grounded down. the truck has a F250 under body. It is a one of a kind. I offerd to take you for a ride but hey don't want to go fine do . Live the rest of your life doing what you must adding little things to your truck to make it look better. this is not a milife crises IF it was I would not be driving a F150 I would be driveing a Viper. I have driven cars since i have been 12 years old I drove an 18wheeler at the age of 18 and drove for a living for 6 years I know how to drive. I have driven from coast to coast.
