I'm looking at some newer (ie, >2010) vehicles, and was shocked to see some that have located the battery under various seats. Some under rear seats, a few even under the front passenger seat.
So, someone gets to ride around sitting atop a bucket of lead and sulfuric acid.
And everyone gets to ride in an enclosed cabin with a charging battery that's evolving hydrogen gas.
And I can't imagine how charging a dead battery is done safely.
It might be good for stuffing things into increasingly cramped vehicles, but when/how did the powers that be decide this was good for the human beings in the vehicles?
Nah, you can unlock the front door. Then you have to crawl into the back, lift up the spare tire tray and work the old battery out and get the new battery wired enough to be able to unlock the doors. Easy job if you're 20, not 50!
