Automatic switch

Has anyone switched from column auto shift to floor auto? Was it a headache hooking up linkage? What problems if any might come up? Thanks.

just saw a post from bainbridgebrewer that he had recently converted his floor shifter back to column shift - might get some useful info from him. His post had NSS in the title line.

I did the opposite and restored the column shift from a floor shift. The PO had put in a B&M floor shifter. The removal was very straight forward. Its a cable shift and I never had issues shifting with it while it was being used. The linkage bracket mounted to the transmission using two of the oil pan bolts. there is an adjustable rod at the end that hooks into a clamp that goes over the transmission shift linkage. Mine is a '78 C6 so the clamp goes where the NSS mounts. I think the hardest part will be getting the angle of the clamp right so it shifts smoothly. I'll find some pictures and send them over soon.
