Anybody with a C6 ever convert from a column shift to a floor shift? I ask because I went to leave work today and my shifter broke off the column. I hate the column shift so I don't want to spend the money to buy a bunch of parts for something that will probably break again. I've found the Lokar 23" C6 floor shifter but its pretty pricey. Anybody know a cheaper alternative? Please post pics if you have any. I would like to see how it looks and if there are any clearance issues.
I bit the bullet and bought a 12" Lokar floor mount shifter. I probably should have spent the few extra dollars and got the tail mount. Oh well. I guess we will see how it goes when it gets here.

I bought one for $175 (Jegs may have them) and it works great, the 90's Ford column shifter are junk, cast aluminum and not worth a dime, and the 70's maybe a litter better but I also wouldn't spend any on used parts that probably will brake later any way. Tom's 54.
I don't have a C6, but I have a C4 that I put a B&M Z-gate shifter in. It comes with all the brackets, instructions, and stuff to mount to a lot of different transmissions. It's cable operated like in the pictures above. It was only $125 at Summit. It's a little short, but I don't mind reaching over a little to put it in Drive. LOL
i dont like mine at all it deos not have any safety built in to it.
if im going down the road and someone or something bumped it
it would probably go right in to reverse. i did not buy it or install it.
it was in there when i got it. works good i just dont trust it.
