I actually like small engine, and related work, but nowadays everything is disposable. People replace not repair. Starting a new trade may work. I'm not bad at electrical, but refuse to do plumbing. My body is not "under the sink conducive". I'm 56, and having a 12 yr old at home, will delay any retirement plans. I'll probably just stick it out with my brother, till I win the lotto, lol. I go thru this stage a couple times a year. It's easy to vent on this site. Thanks.
Good evening folks, we had another nice almost spring like day.
A bad retirement program is better than what I have which is none, a good thing I saved up.
I have Canada Pension as well as CCP which I would hate to live on just that alone. I guess it helps but that pension is less than my two rental properties bring in, all while the cost of living, plus a few toys now and then, keep going up.
I started my two rentals many years ago, while it`s ok most of the time there are some ups and downs.
I don`t buy lottery tickets, guess I should.
My wife has a pension which also helps.
I wish I had bought property years ago and rented out, would be able to afford to get out of this town then. Now I'm stuck here unless I did win the lottery..
I meant to say I have CPP and OAS, neither are exciting or buy any neat toys. Basically just enough to slowly starve on at best so savings are a good thing to have.
I spend $40 on the lottery per month as I can't afford to lose anymore than that. This next file review that happens this month will tell me how much of a starvin Marvin I'll be this year, expecting it to cost me $700 a month. Wish the Government would tax the higher tax brackets more and stop trying to starve me out
I've been 16 for the last 40 years Gerry, still don't know it all apparently.
Even though I park 160' front the corner, my truck still gets hit on an all to regular basis. April 13, 2015 my 79 got rear ended by a drunk driver while it was parked in front of my house and on the 28th at 1.53 am my 78 got hit by a stolen 96 Mustang, the Mustangs owner was in hot pursuit. Not much damage to my truck as the car hit Serge's truck first. So now I'm waiting for a call from the other guys insurance. The cop that wrote up the report writes like a chicken and it took a while to decipher what he had written up about the Mustang. The rest of the day wasn't much better.
