Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Cold on the mountain today. Hunting partners son called and told us there elk in his back yard. By the time we got down off the mountain and got there they had gone through a neighbors horse pasture and up a very steep hill. We gave it a go, but chasing elk up a very, very, steep grade is never a winning proposition.
On the other hand, his neighbor said we could use the barn as a "blind" and ambush them when they return to the area.
More snow.......more cold.....bladed the driveway.......again.
Built a fire in the shop and played in there for a while.
Supposed to have more tonight.
Made it to Halsey and the snow was coming down hard. Couldn't see the center line on I-5 in some places. Went back home, my office is on a 2 hour delay but I might just stay home today. School is cancelled in Corvallis and Springfield.
Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 29, (wind chill = 18° F) up from 22. Got .27" of snow, not much at all.
Taking a day off from elk hunting unless Gene calls and says they are in the horse pasture. Getting first of the month bills done, Care Home meeting and meeting with the Hospice Nurses.
Other than that, back inside admiring my fire. Have to watch it closely to make sure it doesn't go out. Wouldn't want the Warden, Sthickly or Duke to have anything to complain about.
