Hey guys...not sure if this specific horse has been beat to death repedeately (sorry if it has) but is there a Ford part or an acceptable aftermarket for a locking gas cap for the gas trucks?
A few (including my neighbor) experienced the thieves cut the fill hose under the truck and stole fuel anyway which caused even more damage. Something to consider...

As the old saying goes..."a lock will only keep an honest man honest".
Yes but it is still a deterrent. I understand there are many ways to skin a cat.
The only reason I'm asking about this is because I'm going to be leaving my truck in a parking lot next month for a week while I'm on a cruise and I just read a story about thieves siphoning gas from nearby lots.
I've had two failures. After a while (I'm fuzzy on this but in each case I think >6 months) they became extremely difficult to remove. They were 1) a Stant 10510Y and a NAPA Balkamp 703-1771. I'm back to the original.
I had gas thieves at my local park and ride a few years back, after them breaking a locking gas cap I installed a locking gas door along with a locking cap.
I also parked closer to the kmart so the *******s wouldn't punch a screwdriver through the bottom of my gas tank.
I think the door is a better visual deterrent and also park close to a light if possible
Could go the DIY route. A little scary to drill a hole in your new truck but I figured what the heck, I took a zaw saw to my brand new truck some years back to cut the grill out, turned out good.
