This is something I don't see brought up very often. Gotta search around for insurance on my 67' F100 4x4 and was a bit curious as to what you guys paid for yours so I have some ideas to shop around with. I am probably just going to get liability coverage as I don't think there is much to be covered on my end. I also have to take into account that I am only 19 so I will probably be paying double what most of you do. I attempted to do some online research but none of the insurance websites could find my vehicle or went back to anything past 1980.
When I started driving mine, it was $80 a month. After a few years and being an honors student in college, it was down to $55 a month last year. (I pay yearly)
The bill will be coming around again in a few weeks, so I'll see what it may or may not be down to again this year.
The truck is my only vehicle/ daily, and I live in a large metropolitan area.....
I use Haggerty, they specialize in insuring older classic vehicles. I don't remember what I pay but it was a lot cheaper than using Allstate. I just had to take some pictures of the truck and send them in to prove it's value. https://www.hagerty.com/
Maybe things have changed but if you do not have a separate regular car you daily drive it might be hard to find classic or antique type insurance for the truck. Those tend to be the cheapest but you have to prove that you have a regular vehicle you normally drive. My f100 has an "agreed" value of 35k and my yearly cost is only $286 with Grundy. I had to prove the truck was garaged and that I had a regular insured vehicle that was my daily. I liked Grundy because they did not limit mileage on the truck. I had a 72 f100 that I insured with AAA a few years ago. No agreed value and no mileage restrictions. It was about $375 per year.
I have mine through State Farm. But since I'm not driving it for the next couple of months( got to fix the C6), I have only theft and fire on it during the winter, it's $25 a month
i have my 67 bump insured with state farm. i have a antique lic. plate because the state says it,s a antique, however since my truck is not " restored" they will not give me the antique rate on my insurance. they are going to lose money when i paint my truck. the premiums are more with it unrestored than it is with it restored. i guess it,s like Ron White says you can,t fix stupid.
