2017 Back to work!

I haven't touched Austin's truck since May this year. Just to much interference!
I'm retired I think. I don't know how the guys still working every day get anything done to their truck.
I got word yesterday my buddy Frank came up with the V8 radiator shroud we needed to complete the running chassie. He found it right here in our back yard. One of his friends gave it to him for Austin's truck! That was a great Christmas gift!
Our plan is to start on the body work January 2nd. We are going to do everything that we are capable of getting ready for paint. I should be able to work about everyday except for 2 weeks in February. I will paint all the underside and the cab and doors interior then I plan on taking all the components to the paint shop by the end of March.
When I get out to the garage after the holidays I will take some pictures before we start and as we progress.
Just wanted to wish Everyone A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Good news indeed. Those wheels look nice. Will that be the color of the truck?
Keep us posted with plenty of pictures and details.

Austin wants it the original green, we are going to paint the fenders black.
I have been trying to convince him to go another color however that is not going to well! With the exception of the wheels its going back original until we cover the seat. It is his truck so he is the boss.
I have never recovered from not getting to put it on an updated chassie. I guess that since the old truck really was in great shape and it would have been a shame to have broken it up.
We will get her this year and it will be another one on the road again!

Nothing wrong with an original chassis and suspension and steering! And I like the Meadow Green color!

It's good to see you back on FTE and ready to get back to the truck! Good Luck and Merry Christmas.

Do I have a build thread or Jim and Austin? Look for Jim and Austin truck build by searching Papaw and Grandsons project 1952 F1.

I don't have a build thread since I got my truck painted in 1999 we didn't do stuff like that on FTE then. I did start a rebuild thread this winter called Abe's 54 Rebuild Thread when I put a new bed on it, got it repainted painted and reupholstered my seat painted my bed boards, etc.

I noticed your absence, glad to here you are going to be starting the project back up. I'm sure Austin will cherish the thoughts and memories of this build with you, for the rest of his life. Plus having a beautiful truck just like he had imagined it, wont be to shabby either. I have great respect for this build, it is truly a build of Love, and devotion.

Austin got it right Jim. original color is perfect. I considered the Meadow Green for my truck, but went with its' original Meridian Blue.

The two tone look is also a feature I like, as that was the color scheme of my truck.

Project is really looking good, and you get to do it with the grandson. Don't think it gets better than that!
