good to know! I am wondering if the flat plenums like the ones Irate sends with their t4 kit is the same way . If you ever want to do a s400 or big Garrett turbo you need the flat plenums to clear the turbo

Defiantly a feel of confidence that you will never have to mess with them again.
what part of the oil system did you have to get into. My engine is pretty clean I have pressure washed it and spray it down often. I am looking into the flat billet plenums like the ones offered from irate. If I ever want a s400 frame you need the flat plenums to clear the turbo

Your engine is clean already but I'd recommend getting the area as clean as possible and blow any loose stuff away with an air hose to prevent it from dropping into the intake while the plenums are off. One of the first things that I did was disconnect most of the engine harness and lay it over to the left side of the engine and out of the way. EBPV solenoid is easily broken and if you don't already know it's best to remove it from the pedestal before you break it. For the most part it is straight forward.

Since the fuel bowl needs to be removed, and I have the rebuild kit for that already I might just go ahead and order the billet plenums to save me the trouble of removing the bowl again later.

The plenums will be in preparation for the KC38R and 160/80 injectors that will hopefully come along next year.

EDIT: I will NOT be getting the plenums soon because the install calls for removing the turbo and pedestal. I do not plan to do that again until I am ready to replace the turbo. So, in an effort to retain my sanity (re-installing the turbo can make you crazy) I have added the billet plenums to the injector/KC38R purchase list. I will probably just get new sleeves for the fuel bowl lines when it comes time to install the 3 parts mentioned earlier.

I pulled my HPOP lines to get them out of the way. Having some space to work is nice.

I had the HPOP out already but I don't know that it has to come out to do the plenums. The extra work space probably wouldn't hurt.

I didn't remove anything dealing with the HPOP except pull the lines.

The KC is pretty much a hopped up 38R. It is a very nice turbo and has a great reputation for the short time it has been around.

Check it out at KC Turbos or CNC Fabrication.
