I recently noticed a possible fuel leak on my 96 7.3l Powerstroke. It seems to be coming from a couple "soft" fuel lines in between the "hard" lines that run on the right side of the engine. The two hoses have odd looking fittings on both ends as well.
I'm trying to find out what the specific Ford part numbers are for these two lines, if there are some upgraded options other than going with a genuine Ford part, and what specific tools and instructions I will need to replace them both?
Those are push-lock fittings. You remove the clip, then use the push lock removal tool (cheap tool at any auto parts place). Then pull the metal hose out of the coupling. I think there are 2 orings on the metal hose. Replace them. Then slide the hose back in the coupling, reinstall the clip and shamzam, you are back in business.
When using the removal tool, listen for a little 'click'. That is the indication that the retainer has released and you can pull them apart

I appreciate the reply 97-PSD! I'm working on getting the tool to get this accomplished. Although, the lines I'm working with appear to be rubber hose. Would the rubber hoses have the same o-ring setup as the metal?

Anyone have any idea if the rubber lines have the same o-ring setup as the metal lines?
The o-rings that need replaced are inside the female connection on the flexible line. Mine started to leak and I removed the flexible line and got rubber fuel line and used hose clamps to replace. Didn't have time to source the o-rings. I will fix the OEM line when I have time and put it back in.

Are the OEM flexible lines you removed metal or rubber? I'm trying to figure out if the lines I have are OEM or a cheap replacement.
