2003 4X4 maintenance
It was real noisy and I thought it was a transmission issue. I was going to get rid of it and get a 14 or 15. But I replaced the front wheel bearings and rebuilt the rear end. The front pinion bearing was eaten up bad, and one carrier bearing was bad. Now the truck is dead quiet inside again. No weird noises or vibrations.
So what can I do to make this thing last? I did the Ford 100K mile service stuff at 100K miles. I only drive about 10K miles a year or less and they are all highway so I only do one or two oil changes a year. The oil stays clean a long time.
I want to get a backup camera and get a radio that plays MP3 from a zip drive. Should I sell it and get a 2014 or newer? Other than one side of the bed that has paint issues, the body is good. I live in Georgia and garage it, so they isn't any rust or sun damage at all. Should I hang on to this thing? If so, should I do anything preventative?
