There are some great points to be made for the 8' box, but I always go with the short box because, especially in the case of these Super Duty trucks, it already take 3/4ths of an acre to turn one around. And, when I park at work or at the store I don't want half of my truck sticking out in traffic.
I chose the 6.5’ bed. Didn’t really consider the long bed as isn’t really need it. What I would’ve liked was to get a bed without the steps on the sides !!!!
what if they offered a 6 door 8 passenger super duper cab with a 5.5 bed? it could haul a lot of guys to the work site and pull any bumper pull trailer they want. Perfect alternative for guy with a large family.
If i was handy with photo shop i would have made you one
Long Hauler was / is awesome. RAM actually made two of these trucks and one was driven cross country to shows and events. 5500 chassis, tons of fuel, MegaCab, long bed, v-cut tailgate for 5th wheel. There is a small market for these things, plus all the wealthy but "under-equipped" guys that would buy them just to prove their masculinity.
I did the same thing, wanted the 48 gallon gas tank. 8’ bed felt weird at first coming from an F150 shortie but after a week of driving it feels good now.
