I bought a new Expedition 4 weeks ago, 1 day after a $1,000 black Friday deal expired. They papered the deal the day before and I signed so the discount still applied. It was a day late because they had to get the Expedition from another dealer because of the options I wanted. I think they do this all the time, so I would certainly ask.

And this delay is not your doing, it is Ford's problem. I would hope they would make it all work. Good luck.

My dealer offered to do the paperwork ahead of time too. I have a 1250 private incentive and the 750 EAA Xplan discount that both expire on 01/03/17. I am nervous drawing the paperwork before the truck gets here, but it seems like a good gamble to me.

I talked to Ford customer service over the phone today and was told mine is scheduled to leave KTP this Friday 12/30/16 and has a dealer ETA of 1/5/17. I will be following up on Sat to see if it has shipped.

Duece, I saw you posted that your truck was built on 12/1. When did you place your order and where do you live. My truck was built about the same time and I live in Colorado. Mine still says awaiting shipment but due to land 12/31. yeah right

I live in Michigan from what I have heard and it's a pretty reliable source Fords goal is to ship the trucks that were on hold by the end of the year. Mine fell into this category

Not for my California bound truck. Still awaiting shippment. I would love for it to ship my 1/1. Im not holding my breath.

Chat says mine no longer has an ETA. Original was 12/18, then no ETA, then 1/18, now no ETA. The fix for whatever is wrong with the these early december build trucks must be fairly substantial.

According to Chat,I have now gone from "in transit" as of 12/19 with an eta of 1/2 to "awaiting shipment and an end date of 1/13. Not bad for a truck that was built 11/22.

Checked chat again today. Still awaiting shipment with an ETA of 1/10. I dont know why I bother, Ford's ETA's and statuses dont mean squat...

Ford's Logistcs Director should be fired!

I think we can all agree that building and shipping a new vehicle is a complicated endeavor. But, is it really that complicated to keep people informed when there's a delay? I dont believe Ford is incompentent, Ford has been building cars for over 100 years. I think Ford can careless about customer service.

I understand being frustrated but Ford is not the responsible for updating the customers directly. While they could do a better job explaining delays your dealer who is responsible for keeping you up to date.

You are correct, the dealer should update the customer. But, the dealer has limited information from Ford. So the problem lies with Ford.

I wouldn't trust that. Mine says Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 12/31/2016. We're doing the paperwork tomorrow on my order. More details will come then.
