So my injector return lines are seeping. Is there any reason I can't reuse the old caps with new o-rings and hose? I see everyone seems to replace everything at once...
Also, does anyone know of a place to get the injector pressure line clamps in a set for cheap? My truck came without any and I'd like to put some on but it seems it's going to set me back $50 I don't have. There was a guy selling them on eBay but he's sold out. I can look at the junkyard but I fear they'll be too rusty to use.
I was missing a clamp and didn't notice until it cracked a line. Ordered a single line and a clamp from 6.9 - Ford. Under $9/ea for either 3 of 4 line clamps.
If your caps look fine inside I don't see why you couldn't jsut replace orings. I changed orings thrice on mine before I got them sealed, got a bag of 50 or 100 off Amazon for cheap. I put an extra oring on top of the cap between the cap and injector line nut to preload the cap, seemed to help seal up the troublesome ones.

Yeah my truck doesn't have ANY of the clamps so I'd need all 4 at $9/EA plus shipping... It wouldn't be a big deal if I wasn't broke haha.
I was thinking about ordering a pack of viton o rings for $6 and finding some good hose for the caps when I get around to it. As long as there's no reason to replace the caps every time just because. From what I've read it's almost impossible to replace the hose without making the old o rings leak so they'll have to be done anyway.
I think the big leak right now is the olive seals between the filter and injector pump, I think the hoses can wait for now.
I used the old caps when I did the o-rings on my truck, worked fine. I used the old hose clamps too, as long as they aren't rusty and breaking they'll still work.
Make sure you get the line clamps soon, if you start breaking hardlines its going to add up real fast.
I was worried about them enough on the drive home to New York from Texas. The truck is parked for the winter and the clamps are at the top of my to do list, I was just hoping I could find them cheaper is all.
