2003 Explorer XLT - two electrical problems, within a week of each other

As the title says, these issues popped up within days of each other.

Radio cuts off and gauges freeze when shifting into park, originally this happened randomly while driving.

Bad ignition key warning sensor(annoying tone while exiting with keys in) makes it think key is always in ignition.

Before it shut down ACC power in park, electronics wouldn't cut off at all.

I've spent several hours searching these issues and nothing helps. If anyone has the ignition wiring diagram or knows the color of the wire exiting C250(left of column, ignition switch?) for the key warning it would be most appreciated! We had just fixed a bad bracket on the shiftier, where we had to remove and reinstall components surrounding it, could this have effected anything? Park sensor? Neutral range sensor?

When it goes to park and shuts down the electronics it's the exact same as when you start the truck and it kills the radio and such momentarily. Faulty ignition switch?

So did the electrical issues just start shortly after you did the work in the steering column area?

If not, another thing to consider is how old the battery is. A lot of strange electrical issues have been found to disappear once a new battery is installed. It seems like 3 years on a battery in a modern car is kind of the magic number on when it becomes suspect.

As for the wiring diagrams, I have the Ford Factory Service Manual for 2003 and can get you ignition system wiring diagrams if you send me a Private or Visitor message and include the request, vehicle details, and an e-mail address I will send you PDF copies of the diagrams. I have a pretty large project list for this evening so I probably won't get to it tonight thought.

I noticed them the day after the repair. The battery is old, so that might be it

I would consider if a wire was pinched, pulled out of a plug, bent pin when reinstalling, etc.
