So recently I went to start my truck and all I got was "Click". I turned it back to off and tried again and the truck started no problem. I shrugged it off figuring it was just me. I drove the truck on a few occasions and no issues at all. A few weeks later it would not start. No click, nothing - no chime dinging, no lights on the dash. I cycled the ignition from ACC to start and back again a few times and then suddenly it started.
My first thought was ignition actuator as I know these can be an issue... But then I realized that my radio was all screwed up (incorrect time etc as if the battery had been disconnected) and I am now suspicious that its the ignition switch itself. Anyone else experience this?
The switches are more reasonable than I expected. I can get a motorcraft one for about $40.
You said terminals and not cables.
It could be at the other end of the battery cables or the cable it self.
The ignition switch will not make the radio lose the time or no chime dinging or no lights on the dash.
Just because the battery is a year old doesn't mean it's any good. Get it tested.
Before I replaced my battery, on occasion I would have to go under the hood and shake it to get the truck to start. Must have been a bad internal connection.
