Ignition switch
I have a 2001 F150 5.4 with 91000k on it and I just ran into my first problem that I cant figure out. I was at starbucks went in got a coffee and came out all of 5 min and when i went to start my truck the whole ignition switch was loose like i could turn it with my pinkey. Also it is stuck in the on position so my radio and stuff still works. I disconnected my battery to save it. I was wondering if anybody had some insight into what was wrong with it? Sounds like it needs to be replaced either way, good news is you need it in the ON position to pull it out. NAPA will have them cheap but then your ign. key won't match the door, a locksmith or I bet the dealer could get a matching one but it would cost more.

Did you ever get your ignition figured out? I was at a NASCAR race this weekend and mine did the exact same thing. I ended up hot wiring the truck to start it and drive home. I don't think my ignition itself is bad, I think something broke inside the steering column. Let me know what you found out.
