Today is moving day!!! God willing, I will be on my desktops tonight and not have to worry about this iffy WiFi! Got a U-Haul truck reserved for 10am, want to have laundry done, and this room packed up and cleaned out before I go.

Good luck Jim. Hope it goes smoothly. I'm gonna be coming over the siskiyous later on today. Hope the crazies aren't out too thick.
Well not all of them. On the way back to the rental center to drop off the U-Haul truck, I almost ran over an older gentleman who was in the middle lane of a 3 lane road, walking straight towards me dressed in black. He was yelling at the cars passing him, and continued walking. So maybe one of your crazies came this far south, or we have at least one of our own.
The move did not go smoothly, but it did go, and I am now officially in my own place. Now comes the "putting everything away" part which usually takes me weeks to complete. I am going to do my best and get it all done in one day, or two at the most. Since a lot of stuff was thrown out, and this apartment is about 2/3 the size of my last one, it looks like I will be throwing out even more stuff. (If you haven't used it in 2-3 years odds are you will never use it.)
I'm pretty sure the farther south you go in California the more crazies there are. I suspect it's directly proportional .

Glad to hear you're in Jim. I still haven't unpacked all the things I brought up from my parents storage this summer... My file cabinet is standing in the middle of my bedroom.
This putting stuff away is kicking my bum. I have been at it since 9am, and it still doesn't look like I have made any progress. If I were a smart man (we all know the answer to that one) I would have gone through the stuff before I had them move it all into storage. There is quite a bit of stuff that should have already been thrown out. Still, better late than never.
The office desk I ordered on Amazon.com arrived today. I love that Amazon Prime thing they have. Free shipping on most everything they sell and it gets here in 2 days, even though I was told it would not arrive until Thursday or Friday of this week. It has almost paid for the yearly membership fee of $99 just in savings from the free shipping. That doesn't include the music and movies I can watch for free. Sort of like Netflix but with shipping, and music listening perks. And no I don't work for Amazon.com, just wanted to share my positive attitude toward them. And they like me so much they gave me an $800 debt card. Well, they call it a credit card, but every time I use it I go into debt, so I call it a debt card. LOL.
Can't wait to get some room cleared out so I can assemble that desk. I have been without the use of my desktops way too long. After buying the desk, and then going into the manager's office yesterday to sign the lease, I noticed the desk she has is the same exact one. Hers is all scratched up from years of use, but it gave me an indication of how big mine is and if three computers would fit on it. Looks like it can easily handle 3 monitors and two computers. Think I will put the third one on the floor somewhere. (But not directly on the carpet.)
Has it been that long already? Time flies when you are having fun.
Have all four computers up and running. Desk is assembled, and I am a happy camper. Now to tackle the rest of the apartment. LOL. Hoping to have everything done today, but that is probably too optimistic.
Happy Friday Nor Cal! Minions last day of school for the year. Three weeks off!
I think we got distracted on the June thread thing. We got a pile o'rain here yesterday; not quite 2" of the stuff. We had winds gusting to about 58 MPH yesterday. Impressive. Then very suddenly it stopped around 9:30 last night. Pretty obvious when the cold front passed through here.
Depends on your, um, constitution or something? I've got a couple of friends that seem to wear shorts no matter the weather. Now, I have a "hot furnace", or so my wife would say. But it's cold enough that I would hesitate to wear shorts now.
My blood used to be quite a bit thicker, but when I moved out here from Minnesota some 40+ years ago, I've become quite acclimatized to the weather here.
Ya distracted by the other thread. I'm here are my parents. Been helping Dad clean the garage out. We've got it almost done in 2 days and put up 5 new shop lights.
Heading into the snow for Christmas trees today. I'll report back with pictures.
Well not much snow. Icy icy though. The road to our favorite spot has a fairly steep outslope so we opted not to try that side. Went farther north and the picking were slim. Most of the silvertips were 30+ feet and I didn't want to top one like everyone else had done...
Truck did great though and the family and dogs had fun.
