I use Jack stands right past the spring hangers front and back. I don't recommend raising your trailer with only Jack stands behind the rear springs hooked to the truck because it adds excess weight and stress on the pin area.

After lifting the trailer near the front and rear spring hangers, do you support the front in anyway like with the landing gear with large blocks under them?

Yes I will lower the front jacks so they are down hard but not enough to transfer weight to the back jack stands, I also have Power Twin II rear stabilizer that I lower just in case but raise them back up before removing the jack stands. I use a friend's heavy duty Kansas Jack stands but I'm still very careful when its off the suspension. I will even place my lighter jack stands under the axles when the tires are off.

Might consider switching to greasable bolts and brass bushings while you're at it.

I just ordered this set of heavy duty shackles and wet bolts with bronze bushing on Friday, they were delivered yesterday.

You can't go wrong with a set of shackles that can be greased as long as you keep greasing them.

That's on my to do list to replace as soon as I get to a winter spot to sit and get some mail/ packages sent towards.

That's them. I grease them whenever I'm doing any other service on the trailer or before any long trip. Takes maybe 5 minutes. I just get on a creeper and go one end to the other and wipe off any excess with a rag. Really quieted down the moans and groans when parking her.

Very nice upgrade there. I will probably need to do this by the end of next summer. Rig will have enough miles on it for a wheel bearing and seal service and that would be a good time for this as well.

Has anyone found the ultimate grease for trailer suspension?
I have the wet bolts and bushings and use Stay-lube Moly-Graph grease. I use this grease for everything else but it doesn't seem to last very long on the trailer suspension.
I grease it every other time we take it out, but say by the end of 500 miles it is creaking again while I am backing it up into the driveway.

Green Grease | The Best Grease Money Can Buy!

I use this on my offroad Jeeps and trailers, that see a LOT of water and extreme use...NOTHING better!
