I am looking into a 17 F150 SCrew and can't decide between a Lariat and a Platinum. I priced them with the exact same options and the platinum comes out at just over 1k more. Other than the emblems and the lack of seat options (for the platinum) what makes up the differences in prices.

That was my old account I coulnd't find and is actually supposed to be started under this account. I tried to delete it but wasn't able to.
The platinum has some nicer interior materials, such as brushed aluminum in place of some of the silver painted pieces in the Lariat, and real wood in place of the fake wood on the doors. It also has unique stitching on the seats. Aside from that, it's just the obvious exterior trim differences.
I was faced with the same decision when I ordered mine and went with the Lariat for a number of reasons, but they're all specific to my preferences. I didn't want a black interior and felt the brunello was not to my taste, thought the PLATINUM tailgate panel was a little gaudy, and I really liked the two-tone paint that I couldn't get on a platinum. I also didn't want 20" wheels and preferred the white lettering on the 18" options. Ultimately I was just able to option the Lariat closer to my ideal setup, so that's the way I went.
I had been away from the forum a while and couldn't log into what I thought my account was (log in said it didn't exist) so I created a new one. My new account (which I won't be using anymore) is the GoBlues one. Sorry for any confusion this created.
I dislike the tailgate trim, so I'd go with Lariat myself.
The Boss/Commander of Home Operations doesn't care for the darker seats you get in a platinum. If I could get the silver colored seats with my ingot silver exterior then I would get a platinum. Looks like a loaded lariat will be ordered in the next month.
I like the Lariat better because I prefer chrome bumpers. I don't like painted bumpers because they chip. I also prefer the lighter colored seats. I wanted gray leather instead of black or tan, so the dealer located a truck for me.

Same here. We got our XLT and added the silver/gray leather seats after delivery. I hated the black leather that was looking like our only option.
