So, in the current (11-16) trucks, the only difference between a Lariat and Platinum is you can get better leather in the Platinum. The rest of the options you can add to a Lariat. Has anyone scoured the order guide and found something new that can only be had on a Platinum? (Besides wheels, emblems, etc.)
In addition to the premium leather, I believe the heated steering wheel is exclusive to the 11-16 Platinum. This is available on the 17 Lariat in the Ultimate Package.
The only thing I see that is 2017 platinum only is the "Black/Brunello Interior Environment (BB)"

Yep, I knew that and forgot to add it to my post. Oops. So we are back to just the seats. Hmmm.
The Platinum has an exclusive grille, the stainless panel on the tailgate, the raised lettering on the bed sides, exclusive wheels, and the half-wood steering wheel; I think the wood trim is slightly different as well...plus the Brunello leather, lit door sills, etc.
Its not a lot different, but it bundles most of the luxury into one model, and lets everyone know you bought the expensive model.
Right, lots of trim stuff. I knew that, but was looking for a functional option that was platinum only. I guess it's like the previous generation. Farkle only.
I wonder if the seats are the same and the only difference is softer leather? Platinum is described as multi-contour but both have the same descriptions of how many adjustments are available. Maybe the Platinum are massaging like the 150?

I know the Platinum and KR will have massaging chair options. Not sure on the Lariats. Haven't got to sit in one yet.
Do you like the feature Josh or is it gimmicky? I forgot to try it when I sat in a Platinum 150...
It isn't going to give you a legit massage, but it is noticeable. Drove a 150 with it on a little 100 mile trip and 1/2 way through the trip you forget it's even on.
I was curious before I ordered my Platinum if it would be cheaper or more expensive to just add everything I wanted on top of the Lariat Ultimate Package but didn't have the patience to investigate. In my mind they made it easy for me, I knew I wanted everything (or most of it at least) and really fell in love with the two-tone Blk/ Brunello seats too... yes I came back to the seats. LOL
I'll have to sit in both seats and see what I think. I'm not a fan of the forced chrome pkg in the platinum and if I go DRW, I'd like two tone that is available on the Lariat but not the Platinum. Everything is riding on the seats... No pun intended.
