17 year old truck.. 17 year old database.. V10 to a diesel.. most likely truck and title is correct.. database is wrong.

you know the OLD Adage .. garage in = garage out.

Most generic OBD II scanners will not work with the 7.3 computer.

wel title says truck is a reg can v10. Found engine stickers saying 2001 engine And truck is a crew cab 7.3. Seller text me last night and asked if I wanted him to just buy the truck back I told him we would talk today as I have put some money into repairs in it and if he would give half being around 250 and money back I'll walk away. All else fails just get money back of purchase price and be satisfied

IF the title and the Vin plate match, I wouldn't worry about it. ETIS is not always correct.

Seriously?

He is saying the title says regular cab V10 on a crew cab diesel truck. It seems like you would have a hard time selling a vehicle that doesn't match the title.

Well seller said he needs a week to get the funds up and will give money back and I'll sign the title back to him and do a bill of sale saying returning the truck Hopefully goes well. If so I'll be in the market for another truck

Really now? That is an "official database" from Ford and maintained by Ford.

Re-read post #19. This is the post just before your post that I quoted. Quoted and in bold below.

Yeah I see it, I was referring to post #1
Okay guys just got the truck a few weeks ago, 99 7.3 crew cab clean title already purchased and title in my name now. When I run the Vin number through etis.ford it says a regular cab v10? Is this something I need to have looked into?

I guess it's a moot point now if the the seller is going to take the truck back.
