vin plates when swapping cabs
I moved one of my good cabs onto my f-250, which means the vin on cab on is the wrong one. I said the Dept of Transportation, and they said "just swap the vin plates". any clue how to do this? I figure you have to take the top of the dash off and go from there.. any way to do it easy besides taking out the windshield?

Do you have a title to the cab if so just tag it. There are special rivets holding on the vin plate that cops do recognize. What about the decal on drivers door pillar? In Kansas you have to take the truck to the hiway patrol for inspection with both titles and they will give the truck a new vin.

ok, the other question is, if I do that, will they change the information on the truck? the cab that is on there now is from a f150, and the truck it's on is a f-250. the reason why i am wondering is because the f-250 is non-catalyst since it's a 8600+ gwvr, and the county i live in just started checking for cats...
