Veterans Day

.youtube.com/watch?v=2kX_3y3u5Uo Hope you can open this. if not just type in Terry Kelly and watch a pittance of time in honor of all Veterans. I know this has nothing to do with trucks but we need to remember. You might have to copy and paste. I hope a lot of our trucks are in Veterans Parades.

We have several VETs here on FTE. I considered it a honor & privelge to have served the country I love. But many of those that have gone before payed the ultimate price and should be remembered as well. All gave some; some gave all! I too hope many FTErs and their truck enjoy a place in today's festivities.

Time to reflect

This day always reminds me of two uncles I never knew, both never lived past 25 years of age.

I hope everyone pauses today to reflect on our gift of freedom, that their sacrifice; and of others that continue to make possible.

Thank you and all veterans for your service.

Veterans day is special since I was one that came back a lot of our friends were not so lucky like Bj said All gave some some gave all and we all knew some that gave all that is why every year I post the you tube video of Terry Kelly and a Pittance of Time so that maybe someone that is not a vet might understand Veterans Day just a little better.

I would love to drive my truck in our local parade tomorrow, but instead I will be watching and taking pictures of 2 of my kids who are both in marching band and Air Force JROTC.

My mother graduated HS in '42. A quarter of the men in her graduating class were killed in WWII within two years. Truly hard to imagine nowadays.

Wow! They truly were the Greatest Generation!

Speaking of WWII, have you seen Hacksaw Ridge? Great movie about a great hero, Desmond Does. Go see it!

My thoughts today are with the many families that paid the ultimate sacrifice. Those that are gone, are gone, but those that have suffered the loss must live with the pain.
My brother and I survived, we went on to live great lives. My sister in law lost her brother in Southeast Asia at the same time we were there..
I don't see today as a day for the survivors, but a day for veterans families. Some held their breath for several months but some had their breath taken away... the latter in my opinion are the people, for which this day belongs...
If you know any one that lost a loved one in war, physically or mentally, give them a hug!!
They have and are giving their all!!
