Ok, been trying to track down an odd humming noise on my 08 f150 CC 4x4, 4.6l
kind of sounds like a hub bearing going.
starts around 25-30mph and never quites down.
Turning left or right to load each side of the suspension doesn't change tone or intensity of the noise, different pavements doesn't change Tone or intensity.
hubs are tight, CVs are tight, 4x4 works as it should.
hub / bearings are a possibility..... another is the 4 x 4 vacuum disengage system on the end of the hub/ axle shaft ...... does the noise change between 2 x 4 and 4 x 4 ? You probably need to jack up the front end on the A- frames .. rotate the wheels and listen / look/ feel ..... sometimes you need to remove the brake caliper so that dragging can be eliminated for better analysis.
