I ordered a 350 SRW. Assuming I get the 3"????? Who is interested in a group buy if I can find bulk price? Problem might be shipping pairs to everyone, but they are $30 a piece and everyone needs a pair...
Ahm, not everyone.
No chance I'd be hanging those things off my $90k truck

I got mine to latch by rotating them like Troverman said, on mine if you rotate the hook far enough the latch will close and my hooks look about like the ones in the picture but they just barley hook so there is little room for error. The design looks plenty strong but it don't matter if you can't get a hook in it.

[QUOTE=biz4two;16860975]Might want to add a good anti-seize to the pin. Thinking rust could be an issue./QUOTE]
I don't think rust will be an issue when you need to get them back open. I used to work on a fishing dragger and we used those to hook the doors to the net with them along with many other uses where shackles (clevis hooks to some) were useless.
Having them in the ocean didn't make them rust locked so I would think they wold be OK for an occasional dunking with road salt.

There in lies the problem most of us are facing, we can't find hooks that work. I would love to just put new hooks on my trailer but going to a bunch of trailer/chain places has turned up nothing for me.

I used 5/8 shackles from Tractor Supply. Worked like a charm. I drove out of state to pick up a travel trailer. Thanks to this forum, I wasn't standing there like a dummy figuring this out when I hitched up.

Are you all using wire to prevent the pin from backing out?

I thought I was going to find a hook that worked today. Went to five more trailer places and didn't find anything but most of them suggested another trailer supply bulk store. Went there and walked into a wall of hooks of varying sizes and styles. Don't know how many for sure but they had about 25 styles that met my requirements of working load limits and having some sort of clasp. I tried them all. Didn't find a single thing that would work. Either they didn't have a long enough neck for the clasp to close or by the time they did they wouldn't fit in the hole. The guy helping me was dumbfounded by the design of ford's safety attachment site. Every trailer place I've been to has been dumbfounded.

I have clevis/shackles and I guess that is what I will use. I just really wanted the least amount of failure points as possible and didn't want to have more stuff to break. It was a waste of about 4 hours driving around trying hooks today.

So next time someone has a chance to go to one of those Ford "stop and drive" events where they have a trailer hooked up to a Super duty. STOP in and look at what they use... And take a pic...
