I could be mistaken, but I think the IH pump takes the short stem and the Ford/OEM takes the long stem.

Plug found...

Oil cooler... F****r...
Oil fins look ok. But I'm just gonna get a new one .
This one is pretty rusted anyway from being on the beach so much...
Good news is, it's the cooling side plugged and not the oil...
I'm sure it's all crap from diesel in the coolant...

Question is, where did all the little metal pieces come from? The rubber I'm sure is the thermostat gasket... the metal looks rounded like copper maybe.. but they're tiny like the oil cooler pipes...

Help

Update

Ok.. So I have replaced the water pump.. and the Oil Cooler (it was clogged up with crap from when the injector cups went bad ... diesel degraded some stuff and it got in the oil cooler...

So, as of now if its not any of that, it must also be the radiator. will tackle that if needed. Time will tell.

But for now, engine temps are good and the heat is blowing hot all the time (so far).

If the overflow bottle pukes again.. i can only assume its the radiator or head gasket...(ouch)...

That greenish stuff is copper, and it didn't come from the cups - they're brass. The pump is aluminum and stainless steel. The radiator could be dissolving and leaving deposits, but that would mean a bad mix of something in the coolant - very likely low SCA levels for a long time.

Can the green crud in the cooler be cup adhesive? It's basically green Loctite right?

The very first post in this thread, it was stated that there was no coolant flowing through the upper radiator hose and the heater. Is it logical that a clogged oil cooler would cause that all by itself?

I don't know the coolant flow pattern for the whole engine ... but I do know the coolant flows into the oil cooler from the rear of the engine (by the oil filter) and exits at the front and back into the engine block... very close to the thermostat..

Also, after replacing the water pump, thermostat, and oil cooler.. i can confirm that the coolant reservoir is still over flowing (puking) out the cap.

There isn't much left to do except get a new radiator... after that it's gonna have to go in the shop. I am at a loss for the cause of the problem and I'm getting tired of chasing a gremlin...
