Anyone have ideas or a source for inexpensive replacement for hood insulation pad for a 2002 Ford F450 and a diagram or part numbers I should order? I'm interested in replacing all of it and may need retaining clips too.
Most just remove it when it becomes torn up or saturated with fuel/oil (from a leak). I do not have the PN for the pad. I am sure a quick Google search for it will yield you some results though.

So I don't have to worry about the paint bubbling on the hood because it gets too hot?
Noise in the cab. It absorbs some of the noise from the motor so it doesn't come through the hood. If you want to make it quiet, put some sound deadening material on the hood.

Part number is discontinued from Ford. You're only options are to find someone that doesn't want theirs or cruise junkyards.
I removed the one from my truck, cleaned it with dish soap and water then let it dry. I think sprayed it black with spray paint and then remounted it under the hood. If yours is not torn or has holes, then you can follow this same practice. The one under my hood looks brand new and has since I cleaned it up 2 years ago.
Retaining clips can be found at most auto parts stores. If you have one to take with you to size it that would help a lot.
