even though the rest of the paint is in great shape, the hood will not match once painted. It will be harder to tell than say repainting just a door, but it will still be slightly off. A slightly more expensive route would be to have them blend into the fenders. If you want to save some cash, ask if you can take them just the hood and have them paint it. Also ask if you can take them the fenders as well and if they can blend them with the hood or if they need the whole truck.

Before I sold mine I had the hood repainted as the clearcoat was looking tattered.
They took the hood off, stripped it to bare metal, epoxy primered, and repainted with basecoat/clearcoat.
They then reinstalled the hood.
The job was perfect. Color matched perfect. Even cut and buffed it.
Total cost 477.30
