I asked this in general automotive, but only one person had anything to say. Maybe no super duty guys visit that, I don't know. Looking for an electric air compressor, mainly for my F-350 tires, but not exclusively. No longer can use my bike pump to add air. I do not have storage for large compressors nor will I pay $1 for each minute of air.
If you guys have any suggestions, please let me know.

I went with a Firestone 9284 compressor and mounted it under my hood. It does double duty as my airbag compressor and tires or anything else I need air for...
I built my own compressor pack for mine utilizing the Viair twin 400C compressor, a Firestone 5 gallon 7 port tank, and a retractable hose reel. I use mine also for my air bags and train horns.

EDC8008,
What are you using for your Train Horns & are you happy with them? I looked up the real Train Horns but at $1,000.00 and up for the Nathan Air Horns like Southern Pacific uses that's just too much money for something I really don't plan on using.
ExDakotaOwner,
I did something like EDC8008 did BUT I'm EXTREMELY CHEAP! While trolling CraigsList I found a single Viair 380C compressor, tank, two 1/2" solenoid valves and air bags off a Chevy S-10 for $100.00. The tank was too large to mount to the frame of my F 250 but the compressor fit fine. My main use is to air up my air bags for towing my travel trailer (20 PSI when towing) But I also plan on adding a female quick connect air fitting off the rear bumper bracket and making up an air hose that will reach all truck tires and the tires on the travel trailer. I got an air tank that fit my truck frame perfectly for FREE from a wrecked 67 Kenworth just before it got scrapped. The air bags I used on my 64 Chevy C-10 with a schrader fill valve but had to make my own mounts. I got my money's worth out of the deal. For my 06 F 250 I did end up buying a USED set of Hellwig Air Springs and brackets again off CraigsList specifically for my truck that was $ 150.00 BUT I'm still not done. The electric GlowShift dual pressure gauge set up was $100.00, I still need a 200 PSI pop off valve about $8.00 (just in case) a Viair pressure switch with relay $25.00 some 1/4" airline tubing and some miscellaneous air fittings and actually get off my lazy a$$ to finish my install.

Care to share some pictures of the set up.
I currently just throw in my 6 gallon air compressor when we travel. I plan on a tank and compressor for air horns, but that hasn't happened, and I already had an inverter, and the compressor and impact.
Craftsman pancake, under $200. Many brands available in that size. Check pawn shops for construction jobs pawned.
I like a tank job as without a tank, you can end up with water in the tire. If you have a lot of humidity, add a dryer as well.
jmo.
Worst one is the $39 Harbor Freight job. Slow, loud etc. I bought two as they were on for $34 or something. Smartest thing I did was take the unopened one back. Once it has a full tank, it will deal with a car tire ok, but you need to go up a couple grades for the larger tires.
Dakota,
Not sure what you had in mind and many sharing a built in or heavier pancake compressor but here's what I use.
Good for both tires and inflatables. Set the air pressure setting and it shuts off when full, etc. Not fancy nor expensive but small enough, yet strong enough to fill my LT tires with patience.
Needs battery packs which fits other products besides but another option to consider.
I built my 12 volt as it's hard to drag an extension cord to the beach up by the house. Nice also to be able to use an impact for a flat tire on the road. I've also used it on job sites as I got the 100% duty so that helps tremedosouly. Having a 50' hose reel goes all the way to my trailer axle.
I have the the Cannon Ball Express, I think I paid $750.00 and yes I like it as I can now get people's attention. Still a bit pricey.
