SCT tuner problem
Ok so my wife knew I wanted a SCT tuner awhile back so as a gift she bought one new in the package off of craigslist. Today she gives it to me and when I plug it in and it is married with 5 unlocks left to another truck so she was scamed. There is no way to track the seller dow and she is so upset. My question is, is sending it back to SCT and paying all that money the only way to get it unmarried? Is it even woth it or just buy new? Hate to tell her that her best intentions were a waste of money. By the way it is the X3 #3015. Thanks

Yup, but they will "give" you 3 tunes for your engine.. They say the $150 is just for the unlock, but if that were the case, you would still have the old tunes in the unlocked device! Ask me how I know

I am guessing you did it and sent it back to them. I had a guy tell me somewhere on he internet there waas a oust on how tofix it yourself, I have not been able to find anything like that.

5 Star charges $170, and SCT charges $150. I got ONE stock tune with the un-marry for $150 from SCT. I am not sure what you get with a 5 Star unlock, as I didn't know they could un-marry til after I sent it to SCT.

I spoke with 5star and they themself do not unlock them, they send it back to SCT. The extra # is for shipping it back and there time.

So it is SCT with the over the top fee for a few minutes work.
PS- the "stock" tune I got from SCT with the unlock wasn't much different than Ford stock, unless they actually don't give you a "custom/SCT" stock tune. The 5 Star 87 Performance tune is the shizzle, and works great both towing and around town!
