The main differences I hear about most are the power improvement and much better shifting. We focus a lot more on the trans than pretty much any generic tuner out there. Shift points are adjusted, line pressure is adjusted, TQ converter lockup and unlock points are changed, etc.
Would I need to have a "custom tune" to leave the line pressure alone if I have modified transmission with a "shift kit" since they already optimize line pressure ?
Sounds like your 100hp would be best for a stock transmission ?
What speed is your TQ locking up at cruise and on deceleration ?

No, you will not need to select the "Custom Tune" option for the shift kit modifications. Just make sure you put the trans info in your Vehicle Profile on our site so we know that it is modified.
I like our 100HP Tune a lot. A little bit more aggressive than the Daily tune, but not as extreme as the 120HP and 140HP tunes.
For the TQ converter lockup... That will depend on how hard you are into the throttle. Shift points and TQ converter lockup change based on your pedal position.
I had a 2001 model f250 and used a Edge evolution programmer in conjunction with a Banks 6 Gun and that was awesome. Im sure it adjusted my shift points on my shifting in my transmission wonderfully. Would the bully dog do better than that? I also had a 2001 excursion also with the 7.3L, but tried the Diablo programmer with it and it sucked compared to the Edge.
Yeah whats the extreme setting on the bully dog gt thats what i have also. And heres another question that may be a little off topic with all this. I have all these different mods on my truck and running the bully dog in extreme on the interstate or just taking off my bully dog only shows my boost going to 12. Is that normal or low or odd i dunno just seems low to me.
Again, I don't know where the BD is getting its info from but me thinks it is not accurate. It is possibly a calculated figure from another sensor as opposed to a direct boost reading. Just a guess on my part though.

Banks used a product call Trans Command to alter the line pressure,
Perhaps banks incorporates these features into their 6 gun now but if they do their website makes no mention of it.
Fwiw, Spent some time on the phone with BD support today and the GT does not alter line pressure. ( not that my opinion matters but I consider this a good thing )
My transcommand is still attached to my vehicle but I quit using it years ago.

Yes it would, what I am hoping you will share is some date showing without your tune and with your tune.
You pick the data point parameters and I'll do my best to interpret the results for my usage.
I hope this doesnt get seen as peddling outside of the classified ads on this site, but since Ive changed to the Hydra a few months ago I have a DP F5 with a gauge style switch that i would be willing to make you a heck of a deal on. It has treated me well for several years without issue, but I guess greener pastures got the better of me. You could then send it to DP and have it retuned for your truck. As it is now it is adjusted for a BTS trans. Not sure what the differences are but the tunes had to be adjusted to account for this. This would help you upgrade from your current tuner and save some money. Not trying to step on any toes, just trying to pay it forward to a member of the brotherhood...
I did the same with my F6 - pulled it and made a deal with another member here. Once you have the chip, DP will want some money for "adopting" it - which is only fair.
I believe it's about $100 for it to be tuned for another truck atleast that's what I have read Im having a hard time selling my F6 so good luck on the F5
